Auxiliary

The EMH Auxiliary is a volunteer-based organization that supports the hospital through special projects and fundraising efforts.

Auxiliary History

Unfortunately, early auxiliary records cannot be located to provide information on the auxiliary's early history. The Auxiliary was first started many years ago and was re-structured in 2007 to coincide with the hospital expansion project.  They welcomed new members, new officers were elected, a board was formed and several committees were also formed. The goal was for the auxiliary to be more active and involved with the hospital. The Auxiliary Gift shop was opened December 13th, 2007.  The gift shop was staffed with volunteer auxiliary members and sold a variety of gifts. Patients, visitors, employees and the community could shop at the gift shop.  At this time, the auxiliary was thriving.  They sponsored regular blood drives, held a yearly bake sale to raise funds for the hospital, and also volunteered at the hospital's front desk. Over the years, the auxiliary has used the proceeds of their fundraising to provide the hospital with an ice machine, a recumbent exercise bike and pulse oximeter for physical therapy,  a portable x-ray machine for radiology, radios for the ambulance, an anatomically correct CPR dummy, as well as other items.

Auxiliary Today

Today the auxiliary is mostly active through its annual bake sale at Ellett's yearly Community Block Party Event.  Proceeds from their bake sale go towards special item purchases for the hospital.
